SAE Baja Team

Baja SAE challenges university students to design and build an off-road vehicle that will survive the severe punishment of rough terrain. As future engineers, students work together to discover and resolve technical challenges in design, testing, and manufacturing. They must also work as a team to handle business issues, like marketing and fundraising.

Union University's inaugural Baja SAE team celebrated the completion of their first off-road vehicle in November 2024. The completion of this first challenge, along with a trip to Michigan to observe a Baja competition firsthand, has left them eager and full of ideas as they begin their second season. They are registered to compete in the Baja SAE South Carolina competition October 2025.
