Golden Honey Designs

Junior - Digital Communications / Journalism

I always dreamed of having my own small business, so finally in the summer of 2023, I launched my very own business Golden Honey Designs. Golden Honey Designs is a custom boutique that provides handmade accessories for women and girls at an affordable price. We specialize in sustainable accessories that are cute and trendy. I started by selling paintings but then moved into selling hats, monogrammed pouches, greeting cards, and bracelets. I plan to continue selling my art and accessories until I graduate in 2026. After that, I plan to get my masters in business, and I’m saving up to invest in a storefront. I would like to open a store here in Jackson that is a combination of a café and a boutique. I would like to specialize in selling quality tea, coffee, and sweets, while also offering handmade art and accessories from creators here in the Jackson community.

Eagle Staining Company

Sophomore - Pyschology

I started in December 2022. We stain fences, decks, pergolas. Last summer we started house painting—exterior and interior. My business has grown a lot over the past three years. I have a team that I contract out on some bigger jobs. For smaller jobs I also have teams—friends from high school and church—that I hire to help. The reason I started this business was to help pay for a car for college and to help pay for college itself.

Bec’s Boutique

Senior - Marketing

May 2024 I opened up Bec’s Boutique, which is an online women’s clothing store. Right now it’s strictly through social media, and I have a website in the works. My goal is to open up a storefront after I graduate and move back home to Martin, Tennessee. Bec’s is a women’s clothing store. It has clothing items, accessories, and jewelry. And my goal with Bec’s is to eventually partner with places to use it as a ministry opportunity, whether that’s through partnering with a nonprofit and giving part of my earnings to them or partnering with a place and selling their products in my store, but it is important to me that it be a ministry, too.
